OpenSpy is back

OpenSpy has reopened as openspy.net and is now run by the people who should have had it in the first place. No changes are necessary for play on PS2, but remember to use DNS2 for Battlefield 2, and DNS1 for other GameSpy games. PC games (non-THPS) will need new mods for the domain change.

With the new Openspy team we can definitely expect minimal downtime, because they are committed as well as be able to contact them when it does go down as they have been part of the community for a very long time.

Feel free to check them out and give your support @ openspy.net

Below is the post about Openspy being down.

Farewell.

It was a great ride while it lasted, but Openspy became a handful. We had problems finding volunteers to help with the coding and even forum moderation. Unfortunately, while we are aware that many people used it, no one stepped up and specified they wanted to help out.

Due to increasing demands in other areas from our staff, we have decided that at this time Openspy is to be shut down indefinitely.

This will bring an end to support to most of the PS2 games served through my DNS.

Battlefield 2 Account creation is still available thru DNS 2 and with this news DNS 1 will once again mirror it.

Tribes: Aerial Assault is available on either DNS.

THPS3 may also work, since it wasn't affected by Gamespy shutdowns. (Untested)
